How To Break Through Weight Loss Plateaus
t some point you're going to hit the dreaded weight loss plateau.
So how do you break through it when it hits?
Here are some things to consider:
Reassess your habits. Look back at your food and activity records. Make sure you haven't been slipping by coming out of a calorie deficit to frequently and reducing exercise/activity.
Cut calories. If you've been hitting a certain calorie intake for a while you're body may have reduced your BMR and your current intake may now be your maintenance level of calories. However, be wary of how low you go. Going below 1,200 calories as a female can lead to constant hunger, which increases your risk of overeating, tiredness, fatigue and poor performance. You need a basic level of calories to carry out normal every day, bodily functions. Only in extreme circumstances and under supervision would you go below 1,200 calories.
Change up your workouts and boost the intensity. Keep the body guessing, change up your workouts and increase the intensity of the exercise to burn more calories. Adding exercises such as weightlifting to increase your muscle mass will help you burn more calories by increasing your metabolism as well.

e your general physical activity throughout the day by walking more and using your car less, or try doing more garden or house work. Any physical activity will help you burn more calories.
